A Shot in the Dark

My entry for the GMTK 2019 Game Jam! The theme of which is: "only one."

In this game you move around a dark environment, able to light up only one small area at a time. Use this ability to find walls, scout for monsters, and find the exit. You also have a shotgun, which can (fittingly) only fire one shot before it needs to be reloaded, so don't miss!

Features:

- The lighting mechanic, which confines your vision to only one small area at a time.

- 4 levels, 3 of which have unique aesthetics and level designs.

- Difficult enemies who can see in the dark and hide until they are ready to strike.

Controls:

- WASD to move

- LMB to shoot

- RMB to flash your light

Tools used: Game Maker Studio for coding, Aseprite for pixel art, and Bfxr for sound effects.
